kolor nights at kakao cafe in Seattle

I have been hearing and reading so much about the benefits of coloring that it got me thinking. Why not host an evening where adults can come unwind, de-stress, and leave feeling renewed?

(Enter my event planning mode.)

I am super excited to announce that Haven Paperie is hosting three nights of adult coloring at kakao cafe in South Lake Union in Seattle, WA. Our hope is that these three nights will provide a place of calm in the midst of the busy holiday season.

Join me for a fun, relaxing evening! Grab your friends, plan a date night, or come find solitude.

Heidi, I live in the Mill Creek area and would love to get something like this started in this area. Could you let me know how you were able to get this started with Kakao?

    Thanks!

      Hi Debbie,
I actually (sheepishly) approached Kakao with my idea and they were super stoked and supportive of the idea. We set three dates and then I started advertising for it around the area and on social media. No grand plan except to provide a warm space for people to come and color. I purchased a few sets of colored pencils, found printable pages online, put a few tealight candles on tables and people came. I’d be happy to chat more if you want to email me directly hello@havenpaperie.com.

Thanks Heidi…I have to come up with a venue around here…nothing jumps to mind at the moment. I’d like to support a local coffee shop, like Kakao, rather than a Starbucks but I supposed I could try them.

If I find a place that’s willing, how much would it cost for you to create an flyer like yours…I really like how that looked.

In Macala’s article (which is how I found out about this) she mentioned that you had to limit your meetings because of corporate interest…could you explain that a bit more? Are you have any more sessions at Kakao?

Thanks for letting me know about Macala’s article. I didn’t know it had come out yet. As for the corporate interest part…that had nothing to do with the coloring nights. It was an idea I had to also do similar coloring events for corporations as sort of a team building exercise. Totally separate. Hope that clarifies that part. Yes, the venue is the tricky part. Maybe there’s a cute stationery shop or something other than a coffee shop you could approach. I’d be happy to replicate the flyer with your details. I will email you with pricing details.

Would love to see events like this on the Eastside (Mill Creek, Bothell, Everett area).
